Celebrate Eid al-Adha with Mini-Vacation & Eating Out Together

Eid al-Fitri and Eid al-Adha has always been a special occasion for me. The perfect moments for us to strengthen our relationship, to talk, and of course... sharing food together :)

Talk about food. If cookie and cake are important food for Eid al-Fitri. So beef dishes are still important food for Eid al-Adha as well, that means a lot of meat is consumed :

  • Rawon (Beef with Black Sauce Soup)
  • Gulai Kambing (Goat Curry)
  • Sate Kambing (Goat Skewers)
  • Kambing Panggang (Grilled Skewers of Goat

are the stand out dishes what we might find on the table of the Muslims home when the moment of Eid al-Adha. The dishes that's also popular for my family. Yeah, every household gets busy in making their favorite beef dishes.

I'm spending my second Eid al-Adha with my husband's family. Morning starts with a prayer and small sermon about the religious meaning of Eid al-Adha, in the field mosque near home. After the prayer and breakfast, we would visit our family at Prambanan Village for wishing a happy Eid !

At there... actually I interested to see many people gathers for the sacrifice of the cows and the goats. To see the local butcher slaughters them too. But I was the one who was afraid to see blood, so finally I didn't see it. I just like to eat them in any way they're made, lol. But for this moment I want to have some fun with something I really hate ; vegetables. So we were choose to do mini-vacation & eating out together at street food stall with vegetables as their main menu, gado-gado and lotek. Whatever foods we are consumed, the important thing is we celebrate Eid al-Adha together with joyfull atmosphere :)

So what your favorite traditional Eid al-Adha dish, guys ??? I can't wait to hear from all of you :)
