Sweet & Sour Shrimps Made by Me


Balikpapan is endowed with a long coastline and offers scope for large exploration of marine wealth. A large portion of food in this city dominated by seafood ; various kind of fish, tuna, kakap, shrimps, calamari, crabs, scallops, and lobsters. This city also has a large port with a well-developed. 


Yeah... people who know me well understand that I'm a big fan of seafood. I really really like to enjoy some dishes which made by seafood especially shrimps. When I lived in Balikpapan, I do eat shrimps almost everyday. Big thanks to those wonderful food stall that are almost always available when I shop, lol. I simply had to have it.


When I'm on holiday in Balikpapan 2 weeks ago, me and my dad has been to create shopping experience at the traditional market that offers high quality type of frozen shrimps. That's why I created one of my favorite seafood dishes, sweet & sour shrimps. The smells of this food always lured me in. Maybe it isn't great for you but for the first time I do try my best to make one really special dish in my home. Can you believe it ? Hahahahaaaa...


Sweet & Sour Shrimps by Me



How to cook this simple sweet & sour shrimps ??? Let's check this out...

Ingredients :
  • medium size of peeled shrimp
  • soy sauce
  • bangkok sauce
  • onions and garlic
  • bombay onions
  • salt and sugar
  • olive oil
  • fresh ginger
  • chili sauce
  • acid water

Preparation :
  • Place 1 pound of shrimps in a quart of boiling water with 1 tablespoons of salt, then reduce the heat and cover the pan in 5 minutes
  • Let simmer until the flesh slightly thickened and lost its glossy
  • Heat canola oil in a pan with medium heat
  • Add 5 onion, 3 garlic, 1/2 bombay onions, chili sauce, fresh ginger, soy sauce, tomato sauce, and acid water, then give a little extra water and fry over a medium heat for 1 minutes
  • Add shrimps to the pan, stirring occasionally, and cook for 3 minutes
  • Serve over cooked rice
